I've enjoyed my Clie for three years and the only problem I've experienced was when it became necessary to send the unit back to Sony repair center in San Diego last month to replace the built in battery at a fixed cost of $135! Plus shipping expenses. The Palm operating system is great and the syncing to Outlook and my WORD and Excel files has been reasonably seamless. Occasionally I've had to contact Sony telephone support, maybe 10 times in three years. Overall I'd give Sony technical support a score of 7 with 10 ...more

I find myself on the crossroads of whether to upgrade or not and it's killing me. I started many years ago with the Palm IIIxe, then briefly moved to the Pam Vx and then I purchased the Clie NX60. As fate would have it, before I even opened up the box, my office puchased PocketPC's for everyone. I never returned my Clie and it remained stored away in a closet. Also has a voice recorder which can be fun as well as useful (It's easier to record your own voice when driving than it is to type something into your pda) With the memory stick media, you can play MP3s. You can fit anywhere from 20-40 songs (2-4 albums) on a 128MB memory stick. Also cool is the attached keyboard. It is an older PDA, but I mostly use it for contacts, minor notekeeping, calender and date keeping and calculator. Nothing special, but it makes my life easier and it works great for what I need it for. I have lost all my info on more than one occasion because of not charging it. This works very well for basic organizational needs: address book, calendar, etc. Go with a pocket PC if you are interested in word / data files. This does have it, but it uses too much memory. I ended up deleting those features so that I would have the memory for other functions. This does work well with e-books. Incredible leadership by Sony, very innovative. I purchased mine for $299 a display model at a local retailer, I had a 32 mb memory stick from a video camera I had, I have only had the CLIE for a few days but its wonderful, I have not tried to sync it yet, for mac you need the program the Missing Sync for 30$ you can download it I haven't yet, but I have read good reviews and it seems like a solid program. ...more

I love all the bells and whistles that go along with it- i'm always able to keep busy during "downtime". It comes with the regular palm os apps like datebook, to do, and memo, but also has great features like: *aeroplayer - mp3 player. Songs are played from a memory stick, up to 128 meg (I have a 128X2 and it works just fine) *camera - good little camera for those times when you didn't expect to need one *clie mail - email server for pop3 and smtp *clie memo - draw/write on it like it's an endless supply of post-it notes. I do occasionally have to do a hard reset but that's only when I'm surfing the internet and hit a page that's far more complex than my browser can handle. The only major drawback I've run into with this PDA is the battery life. It starts off ok when you first get it but over time, it takes longer to recharge and delivers much less power per charge.
